WATER SPORTS

The Indian Ocean is one of the Worldâ€™s best destinations to experience crystal clear water visibility and rich marine life. Maamunagau Island is blessed with a large lagoon which surrounds the entire island and is home to several snorkeling spots, thriving with diverse fish, black tip reef sharks, dolphins and turtles.
SWIM WITH MANTAS

The Maamunagau lagoon is an important feeding ground for juvenile manta rays as the large lagoonal system provides protective shelter from predators and an abundance of planktonic food for many juveniles during the North East monsoon months of December to April.
NAME AND ADOPT A MANTA

Much like a human fingerprint, every manta ray has a unique pattern of spots on its ventral surface (belly), which enables manta scientists to identify every individual manta. Since researching the Raa Atoll manta ray population, new manta rays are being discovered and are in need of a unique name. Whether for yourself, a friend or a loved one, take part in our â€œName-and-Adopt-a-Mantaâ€ initiative to support the work of the Manta Trust and their global efforts to protect them.
SOLAR POWER

As part of our ongoing efforts to minimize our carbon footprint, we have recently completed the installation of our solar power energy system. Consisting of 1577 panels covering a total area of 2594 sqm over the roof of our administrative building in the Heart of House, the solar power system will produce 470 596 kWh which is 8% of the resorts total energy requirement resulting in a CO2 reduction of 365 tonnes annually.

Through games, arts and crafts and mini expeditions, budding marine biologists and curious explorers from ages 4-12 can connect with the magic of the island while cultivating long lasting friendships.

Our kids club in the Maldives has been designed to cater to the imaginations of all ages with a spacious indoor space encapsulating a quiet corner with a library and an arts & crafts area. The ample outdoor area offers endless hours of fun in the sun with a splash pool, large garden and climbing frame depicting a pirates ship.

Supervised by a well-trained and fun team, Planet Trekkers is a secure haven with a rotating schedule of recreational and educational activities.
