COMO Maalifushi in the Maldives is the only resort in pristine Thaa Atoll — a 60-minute seaplane journey from the international airport in Malé, and surrounded by Indian Ocean vistas.
Our Maldives resort accommodation references indigenous architecture while remaining elegantly pared back to reflect the island's calming setting. Our overwater suites and villas are built off wooden walkways that stand above the shallow lagoon. Each has its own private terrace for slipping into the sea, while our garden rooms benefit from being set in the island's tropical heart. The views are consistently spectacular: either lush gardens, where children can play, or directly out to the watery expanse.
The two-bedroom overwater COMO Villa sits above the lagoon. This spacious villa comes with its own private pool and butler, making this COMO Maalifushi’s ultimate luxury experience, with two large bedrooms suitable for two couples sharing, as well as families.
This is one of COMO Maalifushi’s most spectacular overwater villas: an oversized, two-bedroom, light-filled bungalow, which sits on its own secluded jetty, featuring a private pool and sundeck.
Our two-storey, four-bedroom COMO Residence combines endless sea views with a contemporary living area, spacious media room and full kitchen. The sundeck is completed with loungers and furniture–suitable for private dining, with butler service included.
Made up of two sleek, comfortable bedrooms (both doubles), the accommodation offers sunrise views out over an endless ocean. It features a private lawn and swimming pool with space for al fresco dining and a full butler service.
Our two-bedroom duplex beach house leads on to its own private lawn. Surrounding a large private pool is a secluded sundeck complete with sun loungers and furniture, allowing you to eat, drink and watch the sun rise and set from the comfort of your own space.
These two-bedroom villas (one king and one smaller twin room) have their own access to the beach, as well as their own private pool. Elegant, simple interiors are lit up with large windows to make the most of the island setting, with French doors giving guests access from the bedroom to the terrace where they can relax within their own private plunge pool.
Sheltered in the shade, this stylish accommodation space offers the same facilities as our Beach Suites but with two bedrooms. The second bedroom offers twin beds and a smaller shower room, making it ideal for families.
Each of these spacious villas has a private pool, sundeck and full-length windows overlooking the Indian Ocean. The bedroom has a separate dressing area and the bathroom features a sunken bath and outdoor shower. The large and airy sitting area can double up as a sleeping area for children.
These overwater suites are located above the water and occupy their own jetty with spectacular views of the Maldivian sunrise. They feature a large bedroom with a living area and wide doors that open to a terrace with a plunge pool and direct access to the turquoise lagoon. The bathroom features a sunken bath and outdoor shower.
Beach Villas sit to the west of the island, with direct beach access and sundecks to lounge on in the glow of each Maldivian sunset. These villas are our largest one-bedroom accommodation with ample dining and living areas, for families that enjoy enhanced privacy and the luxury of extra space. Beach Villa living is a unique mix of privacy and openness: French doors connect the bedroom to the poolside and the bathroom blends into the outdoors.
Our Beach Suites each have their own lush garden, direct beach access and private pool. These suites are spacious and secluded, making them ideal for couples or families with small children. The bedroom has a living area for comfortable lounging and an outdoor bathroom that creates a sense of synchronicity with nature. The suites also have floor-to-ceiling French doors that open up on to the pool's sundeck where loungers, a cabana and a dining area are perfect for entertaining.
Indulge in a celebration of traditional Maldivian or Indonesian dishes every Monday on the Maalifushi shore.
Maldivian feasts highlight local produce such as coconut, spices and freshly-caught tuna, exploring the area’s characteristic sweet, salty and sour hot flavours.
COMO Shambhala Cuisine is a unique nutritional concept that incorporates organic ingredients rich in living enzymes, vitamins and sea minerals while still delivering on flavor. Food is raw, steamed or grilled for maximum health benefits. Chefs also make ample use of the tandoor, a type of Indian oven that allows for fat-free cooking whilst introducing a wonderful charcoal flavor. COMO Shambhala Cuisine is served at Madi, in-room dining, and private dining located at nearby uninhabited islands.
At COMO Maalifushi you can find a place for the most memorable of meals, from intimate gourmet meals on the deck of your villa to picnics and candlelit dinners on the beach. The nearby uninhabited islands can be yours as the sun sets and rises, with chef-prepared meals served by private butlers.
In-room dining at COMO Maalifushi includes salads, pastas and refreshing juices and is available 24 hours.
Thila is named after rock formations in the Maldives that are covered with abundant marine life. As a place to congregate, it inspires our informal Maldives restaurant and pool bar where guests can come to chill out. Food at Thila is easygoing and family-friendly, with salads, freshly cooked seafood and pizzas. Laid-back music, pool tables and an open-air pool bar with ocean views make Thila the relaxed and vibrant heart of island life on COMO Maalifushi.
‘Tai’ (Japanese for red snapper), which is a celebratory fish in Japanese culture, showcases sustainable caught seafood from the Indian Ocean. There is also a cocktail bar offering stunning views of the Maldivian sunset.
Madi (meaning Manta Ray in the local Dhivehi language) serves light, flavourful food that takes its inspiration from the region’s fresh, tropical produce and abundant seafood. The menu boasts a range of local, Mediterranean and international dishes served throughout the day, from breakfast to late evening.
Madi also holds three themed nights each week. On Monday night the 'Taste of the Indian Ocean' explores the area's characteristic sweet, sour hot and salty flavours, with traditional Maldivian Boduberu dancing and drumming. Wednesday dinners are Thai, showcasing a culinary journey through the region's most popular dishes. The week ends with a seafood barbeque on Friday night, dining beneath the stars to the sound of live music from local musicians
